Fox has announced that a new character will enter the show, when Gotham returns on Fox next week, with Raymond J. Barry taking on the role.
The name of the character hasn’t been announced yet, but according to reports Barry will play the temple Shaman, a mysterious figure who enters Bruce’s life with the stated intention of unlocking the potential of his own mind. While the Shaman says the fate of Gotham depends upon Bruce becoming the man the city needs him to become, the truth behind his intentions proves to be far more sinister.
Now this sounds a lot like the legendary villain Ra’s Al Ghul. The villain began as a mentor to Bruce Wayne, and was often a thorn in his side throughout the comics.
We’ve recently seen Ra’s as the main villain in Arrow’s season 3, portrayed by Matt Nable, and now it seems the character will be introduced third time in live action, this time in Gotham.
Whether or not Barry’s character is Ra’s Al Ghul remains to be seen, but fans are hoping to see the iconic villain appear on the show.
