Naomi Scott Loves Playing The Pink Power Ranger

Naomi Scott, probably best known for playing Maddy Shannon in Terra Nova, is preparing to appear in her biggest role so far.

She will play Kimberly Hart/Pink Ranger in this year’s Power Rangers movie. Scott had never filmed a fight scene before Power Rangers.

During a recent interview with W Magazine the actress talked about her experiences on the set of the movie.

During the screen testing, she underestimated her strenght and accidentally hit the stunt double in the face.

“They said that’s quite normal during the first time. Your adrenaline just goes. I’d never punch anyone in the face.” Scott told in the interview.

“I have an opportunity to delve a little bit deeper. I love her because I think she’s real. I think she’s really smart. I think she’s got maturity as well.” After a small pause she continued “if they wanted a flipping gymnast, they shouldn’t have casted me.”

The actress may not be a gymnast, but she has trained very hard for the role. Training three times a day: running in the morning, strength in afternoon, and a “15-minute blast” just before going to bed. Then upon arriving to Vancouver for filming, she and her co-stars went trough 3-week fight training.

Scott has also prepared for the role as a child, fighting with her brother. They actually pretended to be Power Rangers, with Naomi being the Red Ranger.

So, Scott should be capable to throw a punch and pull of stunts in the movie.

In addition to Naomi Scott, the movie also features Dacre Montgomery as Jason Lee Scott/Red Ranger, Ludi Lin as Zack Taylor/Black Ranger, RJ Cyler as Billy Cranston/Blue Ranger, and Becky G. as Trini/Yellow Ranger.

Power Rangers will hit theathres on March 23rd.
