DC’s two most popular characters at the moment, will surprisingly team up in this summer’s animated movie Batman and Harley Quinn. Executive producer Bruce Timm has said that the movie will be Batman: The Animated Series-esque original story, featuring a reluctant team up of Batman, Nightwing and Harley Quinn to stop a global catastrophe caused by Poison Ivy and the Plant-Master.

Empire has released a list of cast members for the movie.

Let’s get the obvious out of the way, Kevin Conroy will be voicing Batman once again. C’moon you can’t be surprised by that, he is regarded by many as “the definitive voice of Batman”

Lores Lesten will take the part of Nightwing. Melissa Rauch, best known for playing Bernadette Rostenkowski-Wolowitz in the Big Bang Theory, will voice Harley Quinn in the movie. And Paget Brewster (Emily Prentiss in Criminal Minds) will have the part of Poison Ivy.

Melissa Rauch talked to Empire about the part saying that “I love that Harley is a badass and, beyond that, that she uses her humor as another weapon in her arsenal. She knows just how to diffuse a situation with her humor, and how to incite a situation with her sarcasm. It’s a dream role.”

And she continued about the character’s unique voice by saying “I knew Harley had a higher pitched tone, and a bit of a New York accent — and I come from a New Jersey family where everyone could be former gun molls. So I wanted to give a nod to my background without being as shrill. In all honesty, I used to speak exactly like that — my acting school professors really worked the accent out of me. So it was fun to find those tones and accent again.”

Rauch has proven many times in the Big Band Theory, that she is more than capable of using loud voices. Now it’s just about making it more Harley-like.

Other cast members include John DiMaggio, Robin Atkin Downes, Eric Bauza, Rob Paulsen, Mindy Sterling and Trevor Devall.
