Assassin’s Creed: Origins Revealed At E3!

After almost a year and a half of leaks. We finally have a confirmation that Assassin’s Creed: Origins is real. The game will indeed be set in ancient Egypt. The environments look beautiful. Bayek looks awesome. Everything about the game is fucking amazing.

Ubisoft released a world premier trailer for the game.  It confirms that the game will be released in October 27th.

And if the features shown on the trailers are part of the actual game, Bayek will be able to slide the sides of the pyramids, shoot up to 5 arrows at once, fight in gladiator pits, sail boats and shoot arrows from horseback.

Now to the story teased in the trailer. The trailer has a commentary by someone (not Bayek!) who describes himself as a part of an organization that was first to “see the gods, tame their beasts, to guard the sould from evil” and that they “conquered this land and built an Empire”. This sounds a lot like the beginning of the Templars to me. The Assassin Brotherhood is just beginning, but apparently there are already whispers in the wind of the brotherhood rising from the shadows. And at the end of the trailer there’s a text “it all starts with one.”

Also the cover art from the Game Informer leak few days back was real.

Ubisoft also released a gameplay walkthrough trailer and here are the most important things I picked up from it. But before all of that, I want to say that the game has taken many influences of other games. Such as Far Cry: Primal and The Witcher 3.

The eagle appears to work in a similar way to the owl in Far Cry: Primal. And apparently the eagle truly works as this game’s Eagle Vision.

Bayek has a list of targets. Possibly a revenge-driven story?

Free running looks better than ever.

Chain assassinations. Which again work in a similar way to the chain takedowns in Far Cry: Primal.

Hiding in bushes has been brought back.

Combat looks the best Assassin’s Creed ever has had. It is a “free-form combat” that is very similar to that of The Witcher 3.

You can finish your assassination targets with other weapons than just hidden blades. Where as in previous two games you’ve always had to finish them with the hidden blade.

You apparently carry one melee weapon, bow, shield and hidden blades with you at the same time. Melee weapons include spears, axes, swords and those “curved swords” (the same kind the Dothraki use in Game of Thrones).

Tombs will make a return in the game.

There will be many different types of environments in the game. Including deserts, canyons, rivers, villages, cities and temples.

The game is looking amazing and I truly believe that based on what we’ve seen so far, this could very well be the best Assassin’s Creed game so far.

All of these things were in the Game Informer leak few days ago, so I’d say that that leak is now confirmed to be real.
